Firstly, apologies for delay in sending this report.
It gives me great pleasure to inform that we have successfully completed our Long Term Project of building the Primary Block comprising 9 classrooms for "Siragu School" run by "Suyam Trust".
The inauguration was conducted on Thursday, the 2nd October, 2008 at the school premises located at Palavedu, off Avadi. Over 225 students were present inspite of the public holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanthi.
The occassion was graced by the Area Project Convener Tr Chetan, Area Community Service Convener Tr Ajay Jalan and over 15 Tablers and 2 circlers of MKRT 181. The Chief Guest for the day was our Area Chairman Tr Sakthivel Raja and the Guest of Honour was AHT GLMF Sanjay Ramaswamy.
Though the function started 30 minutes behind schedule, we started off with the Flag Hoisting and paying respects to the Father of our Nation Gandhiji. One classroom was inaugurated by the Area Chairman and the other by all the Charter Chairman Tr Jaideep.
The handing-over of the Primary Block consisting 9 classrooms measuring 3240 sq ft in totto was followed by brief speeches by the dignitaries for the day. Special mention to our AHT who mesmerised everyone with a politician like Tamil speech. The Students of the school gave some impressive performances climaxing with a 15 minute mind blowing performance by the local karate club.
A "Diabetic Camp" and an "Eye Camp" was conducted as part of the community service initiatives on the sidelines of the inauguration benefitting the parents of the students... 95 persons were screened for diabetes and over 110 underwent Eye check ups.
